Siege and Storm by leigh Bardugo (5/5)

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo is a New York Times bestseller and the 2nd Book to the Shadow and Bone Trilogy. Siege and storm was published in 2013 as a FantasyFiction with a total of 435 pages with the theme of power. With the addition of Bonus material such as a Q&A with author Leigh Bardugo, a short story and a sneak peek for the third and final book. To understand the story you’ll have to read Leigh Bardugo’s first book “Shadow and bone”. From the beginning Alina is being hunted across the True Sea after the events that happened in the fold. Trying to adapt to a very different life with Mal as her past decisions haunt her. Concealing her identity from the world, Concealing that she is the Sun Summoner. But she can’t outrun her past, her problems, her decisions, as then she is faced with New ones. Siege and storm is a very intriguing and interesting book because as it continues from shadow and bone, I wanted to know how all of the problems were going to go down. How everything and everyone is after the event of the fold and how it affected them. At some point I didn’t want to put the book down because there are some moments in the book where something or someone just completely catches you by surprise. Of course there are moments between the two love interests that just make me scream, however that must just be me. The book is very thorough with the purpose of each character, some of the decisions and It all just makes sense with how the story is going. The book does raise the suggestion that even though there are situations that are going downhill, you do the best you can to get out of it and fix it. It's about fighting for what is right. “I say we go down fighting...he met my eyes and said 'We do the best we can” (Bardugo 406). As the story is all about fixing all the wrongs that have happened. Trying to have a better future for their country even if it means them going down with a fight.
