It is about an orphan girl, Alina Starkov, who realized in the first book that she is the most important summoner in all of Ravka. And the second novel consists of her trying to escape The Darkling, who is trying to steal her power to take over the three major countries. After almost being taken advantage of by the Darkling, Alina escaped with her best friend, now lover, and started a new life in hiding. The Darkling found her, and she escaped yet again, but this time, with a new amplifier that increases her power. She makes allies along the way and tries to destroy the Darkling. I really enjoyed this book, and I couldn’t put it down. It is really captivating and has an amazing plot. The story and characters are really easy to follow and I felt the emotions of the characters. This is a really good book, and I recommend starting with the first book and reading the whole series.
