Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (5/5)

The book Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, is a wonderful story filled with worldbuilding and magic. The team of six, who are all convicts and thieves, faces many challenges along the way, and through detailed backstories and misdirection, you feel like you are one of the characters. With a high stakes mission to rescue a scientist, plot twists, and betrayal, this is the perfect story to keep you turning the page. The work of fantasy was extremely well written, because right when you think you know what is going on, new details are revealed that launches the story forward.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. The characters are diverse, and have their own unique personalities and experiences, and the story is extremely suspenseful. If you are going to read this, be prepared to get the sequel as well. This book along with the book The Sunbearer Trials, while wildly different stories, are both written by authors I respect. This is because they both have very good representation and main characters that are not wholly good. By doing this, it makes the story much more interesting, and you are able to connect with the characters more. This book is fantasy and therefore does not affect my own personal opinions, but I think it is great that authors are not writing characters who have no flaws. This book is one of my favorite books and I highly recommend it to everyone who likes fantasy.
