Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (5/5)

Six teenagers, facing an impossible mission, worth a whole ton of cash. Risks were made and life and death hanged at every corner. Characters develop complicated relationships with one another. This is the magical story of Leigh Bardugo, filled with complicated characters, whose personalities contradict one another. I present to you the Six of Crows. It is filled with many lovable and mischievous characters and powerful beings called Gisha, beings of much power, and the ability to control most elements or matter. Six teenagers are tied together to perform the toughest heist, to break into the most unbreakable and dangerous prison in the world, to save a scientist who created a drug that enhances the abilities of Grishes which has been proven to be very dangerous. Bardugo puts characters of different backgrounds together to create the Crows which creates a sense of tension, so will their mission be successful? As I read this book I couldn’t help but enjoy it. I ended up loving each character, each of their personality and problems. I wish the ending of the book didn’t feel so rushed but the build-up, the climax, and character development totally made up for that. The characters felt real; it made sense for their actions and motives and didn’t seem so forced. I loved each little interaction they had with one another and how Bardugo writes so that you can relate to them and understand them. I love how Bardugo creates each character's personality making sure that they are unique to one another how their story can relate to one another and the parallels that the characters have to one another which drives them to be closer to one another. The idea of bringing together a bunch of strangers to fulfill such a dangerous mission, that no one has yet to accomplish makes the book even more intriguing that you learn to love the characters. Each turn and twist always had me wanting to read more. I recommended this for those who want an adventure with a mix of fantasy and the character development makes the story so much more engaging.
