The most efficient way to break a bundle of sticks is by breaking them one at a time instead of struggling to do all at once. Susan and Larry Terkel, a married couple who live in Ohio wrote the book Small Change: Little Things Make a Big Difference promote the idea of taking self improvement to a smaller level. The authors themselves are vary into spiritual and meditative workings and also promote those concepts throughout the book. Small Change is split up into six sections, each with smaller subsections for improving every parts of peoples life. Being happier, more satisfied, and enjoying of life is a big transformation that can come easier with smaller changes. Focusing on one small change, many ideas for these changes are discussed, will add up rather than failing on a larger scale. One example being to experience new things, weather it be a new cuisine or place, simply to expand what your brain knows. Doing so allows the mind to observe things in new ways and focus on all five senses. I personally enjoyed the structure of the book as it allows anyone to find the parts they want to pursue progress on in their life weather it be friendships, relaxation, work life, and many more. Some sections I did not find as useful as it is up to each and everyone's own personal goals. There were quite a few humorous comments as well which I always enjoy and adds relatability, creativity, and sense of community as if chatting with a friend. The aproach of taking on life at a simpler pace is very beneficial as it takes away the overwhleming approach to make everything perfect and to start easier and stick to it. I would definitely reccomend Small Change for anyone who wants less of a story line and more advice, more improvement, and goals for life to read.
