¨Even the wise act within the limitations of their own nature¨ (Easwaran 108) The Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran is not necessarily an original book, it covers the story and messages of The Bhagavad Gita, an ancient scripture from Hinduism. The Bhagavad Gita follows the story of Krishna, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu. Krishna is friends with Arjuna, the rightful King of Pandavas, but he is at war with his cousins who also claim the rights to the throne. During the battle, Arjuna questions many realities in this world and asks Krishna for his wisdom, topics covered include reincarnation and the ways to live a good life according to Hinduism. I commend this way of writing The Bhagavad Gita for making its messages regarding spirituality very clear. I have no criticism for this book. I would give this book 4.5/5 points in terms of recommendation, The Bhagavad Gita can get very boring at parts with long narratives, but the lessons you will learn from them have unmeasurable value, and personally, I feel what I have learned will change my life.
