As a result of Jude's half-fey blood, she and her sisters are abducted and taken to the fey world in the fictional fantasy book Cruel Prince. Jude is a little girl living on mortal earth. The other fairies who live in the faerie world despise humans, but Jude wants the faeries to accept her, so she tries to become a court guard to prove to her that she is one of the Faeries and make them realize and accept her. Jude doesn't want anything else. She experienced complications in the book regarding being half-blooded and not full, which made her experience the prejudice mentioned earlier. She wants to prove her trust with the other feys in order to gain their respect, but Cardan, the High King's prince, has different ideas because he despises humans. The plot surprises at the end of this book's intriguing storyline, which details how she came to live in the land of the Fey and brought everything together. I agree with the author's review since the author created this novel in a unique manner by incorporating relatable yet relatable elements from both the real world and the fantasy realm. The Feys bullied Jude throughout the entire novel because they didn't like the fact that she was half mortal and half fey, which is a severe issue. This book's author, Holly Black, made it somewhat similar to previous fantasy novels, but it wasn't quite as comparable because it had its own unique twist. My opinion on fantasy books has changed as a result of reading this book. Normally, I don't read them, but this book has changed the way I see them and pushed me to try more instead of being picky like how I used to not read fantasy books at all but this changed me to be more open-minded. To sum up, I was drawn to Holly Black's The Cruel Prince because it had elements that were both realistic and fantastical and that worked well with the author's unique writing style. I also believe that this book appealed to me because it was fit for people my age to read, which was another component in my choice to choose this book for my book love.
