The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown (5/5)

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a book that follows Robert Langdon, a professor at Harvard who teaches symbology, who gets involuntarily involved in the murder of the curator of the Louvre Museum in France. This event perplexes and challenges Robert, so he teams up with a cryptologist named Sophie Neveu. Together the two go on a chase sifting through vast clues found in artwork, and they also assess many religious conspiracy theories. Such as the Priory of Sion and a catholic organization called Opus Dei. The two travel through various countries, many museums, and unveil numerous secrets that would have otherwise gone uncovered if it were not for the two. Eventually, Robert and Sophie find the location of the Holy Grail, which was said to have a secret that would change Christianity as the world knows it, and discover new information about Mary Magdalene. After finding the Holy Grail, Robert and Sophie realize that Mary Magdalene was not simply a follower of Jesus Christ but his wife and mother to his children, which would mean Jesus had a bloodline. This would completely change the whole Christian community around the world; however, after narrowly escaping death Sophie, and Robert decide to keep this information a secret from the world and instead go their separate ways as Robert continues to teach and brings up the Grail and its symbolism to students to let them question everything for themselves. Overall this book was phenomenal . It had constant plot twists, new adventures, and new hints and clues to pick up on. It was insane. It was almost as if you were in the mystery itself, and the more you read and hear the more you wanted to do your research and learn more. This book could be a little challenging to understand, especially if you do not understand all the artwork or religious stories they are talking about, it does help to look things up and try to learn for yourself. If you are someone who enjoys murder mysteries, conspiracy theories, art, or even history, then I highly suggest this book for you, it could take a minute to get into and could be a little hard to understand, but it is so worth it because once you get into it you cannot get out. This book is amazing, and I recommend everyone to read it because this book has so much that it can appeal to anyone who reads it. In conclusion, this book is a great read, and you should check it out if you have not already.
