The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the spectacular sequel to The Inheritance Games. As Avery Grambs finds out more about her past and completes the first part of the puzzle Tobias Hawthorne left behind, more consequences follow. The pieces of the puzzle finally come together and the Hawthorne grandsons and Avery must come to terms with it all. As she grows closer with Grayson and Jameson Hawthorne she discovers more secrets that eventually all lead to her. The Hawthorne Legacy truly astonished me just like The Inheritance Games. I couldn’t imagine the sequel could be as good as the first book but it was better. Barnes couldn’t have done a better job constructing the sequence of events and the romantic tension between Jameson, Grayson, and Avery. The ending didn’t fully capture me as I thought it would but there is always more to find out in the third book, The Final Gambit releasing September of 2022.
