I read the sci-fi, dystopian book, “The Hunger Games” written by Suzanne Collins. This is an action-filled book, with plot twists worth reading. This book is about a girl named Katniss who is trying to take care of her younger sister Prim and her mother. When the elections for the Hunger Games begin, Prim has been selected. Katniss takes the place of her younger sister, joining the other tributes, as well as Peeta, a boy Katniss met when she was young. Together, they are challenged to survive through the rough sacrifices and challenges they face. They go through this together, fighting for their existence and love. After finishing this book, I would say that the main two themes are survival and affection. This book expresses this theme through the hardships of the Hunger Games and the relationships created between them.
I really enjoyed this book. Every chapter was very action-packed. It had some gory details but overall, it was fascinating. When I reached the end of each chapter, there was always a cliffhanger, making me want to read more. The attention to detail in the book was really good. It had a lot of dramatic plot twists and it was a very interesting read. It kept me intrigued the whole time. There were so many strong relationships built throughout the book, making me want to read more. I am very excited to be able to read the next book soon. I am very interested to see what will happen next. I liked this book and would recommend it to other readers who are looking for a good-length book with a great plot. It changed my perspective on things in our world and how lucky we are to have what we do. Although the book is based on a dystopian world, it makes us take things into perspective about how lucky we are to have safe homes and families. It goes in-depth about how these children have so many challenges to face, so young. I think this is a great book for anyone who is looking to see the adventures of a young girl and boy who face adversaries together.
