The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (5/5)

Alexandria T.

A life full of games and puzzles, Avery Grambs, a seventeen year old girl who just had her life turned upside down, is dealt with the biggest one of them all. A simple will-reading, right? Not at all, the only thing normal in this room filled with extremely rich members of the Hawthorne family was the anxiety clouding Avery’s train of thought. She had just inherited forty-six point two billion dollars from a man she had no idea existed. As if the money, mansion, private jets, and cars weren’t enough she was faced with the puzzles, codes, and games that followed. As her and the Hawthorne grandsons decipher the reason she had received the inheritance, she must come to terms with the harsh reality of it all. After reading “The Inheritance Games” I came to the conclusion that this has been one of the most entertaining books to read. Every chapter left off on an unexpected twist or cliff-hanger that would simply not allow you to put the book down. There is nothing that I would change about the plot or characters, they were all perfectly constructed. Not only did Barnes introduce amazing plot twists but she added the perfect mix of fiction and romance. From the start of the book until the end she made the book almost impossible to stop reading. If I could read it for the first time again, I would. Luckily there is a sequel that I am more than thrilled to begin reading.
