If you are a fan of dystopian fiction, this book is perfect for you! This book is the 3rd and final novel of the Hunger Games trilogy, and is a great read for any action lover. The main character Katniss Everdeen is a survivor of the 2 Hunger Games she has participated in prior to the novel, and along with her team, plans on taking down the corrupt capitol after they kidnapped, torchered, and destroyed the towns and lives of their innocent districts. She faces many obstacles, both physically and mentally, and is forced to put herself on the line for the sake of her people. She meets many different people along the way, some strong, some weak. But she learns from all her interactions, and never gives up, even when all odds are against her. When I read this book, I felt surprised, and quite impressed at Collin’s ability to continue a story, but I was mainly shocked on how she was able to provide so much detail and action in only 390 pages. If you have developed a liking to any of the characters in this trilogy, my fair warning is stop. Most fan favorites do die in this novel, but to me, it adds another layer to just a simple old story. It plays with the readers emotions, and makes the book hard to put down. While this book was not as good as the previous book I covered on my Book Love, it was a very nice read, and if I could, I would do anything to read it again for the first time. Another piece of advice I could offer to anyone planning on reading not just this book, but any of The Hunger Games stories, is to enjoy it, and try to really appreciate the smaller details, like ones personality, strengths, weaknesses, and motives. This book is a book that you must read AFTER the first two, or else you wouldn’t understand what is going on. There are also movies of all 3 books, so once you are done READING them, you can turn on the tv and watch the story all over again. I personally really like books that have movies because it helps you understand what you have just read, and makes it easier to see the characters and their relations.
