The Name of this Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch (3/5)

This story is about two kids, both of them are twelve years old. There is a girl who the author called Cass since he does not want to reveal her real name. She lives with her parents who work a lot so she mostly stays at her grandfather’s place. They are really distant from her and make her feel like she is living in her own world. There is a boy named Max-Ernest who also lives with both of his parents; however, they are very different from each other and have different personalities. They couldn't agree on how to design their house so they split it in half, with one half how his father wanted it and the other how his mother wanted it. They couldn't agree on a name for him, hence him having two names.

The two young kids meet at a garage sale and find a suitcase that they are both very curious about. The two of them both feel like outsiders because of their parents and are quiet in school. Cass is quiet and likes to keep to herself while Max-Ernest is known for having an interesting sense of humor. They decide to look at the suitcase together and inside they find a journal with mysterious notes and symbols in it.

The Name of this Book is Secret is mysterious and very enjoyable and fun to read. The author used a unique style of writing and makes the reader feel like they are a part of the story because of how the author writes. It is nice to watch how Cass and Max-Ernst's friendship grows and they become closer to each other. They both finally have a friend and someone they can relate to since they each felt like outsiders. The book has many mysteries and plot twists that make the reader want to keep reading and not stop. Overall, this book is a very great novel that anyone is able to enjoy.
