Sarah and Adam Morgan are husband and wife in Washington D.C. Sarah is a powerful attorney and is constantly away from her failed author husband. Adam is away in their second home while having his mistress by his side. They have a passionate night together before Adam awakes in the middle of the night to a car door slam. He goes home to his wife and they then spontaneously plan to have a baby. Adam’s double life would crumble the next morning when the maid finds his mistress in a bloody mess, dead on the bed. Adam became the lead suspect and Sarah became his attorney. Adam believes it to be the abusive husband of his mistress, who happens to be a cop. Sarah is unsure. The public believes it to be Adam. Lots of lies and truths come out when in the end… Adam would be convicted of the death penalty. Years later he would be in the electric chair, and Adam would piece together who the real killer was.
The book was very good but also mind-boggling. I did not expect the killer, but it makes so much sense! It had such a good plot twist. I recommend looking into all the characters as closely as possible to find the true killer. It just may be who you least expect.
