The Scorch Trials by James Dashner (4/5)

In James Dashner's book The Scorch Trials, the reader follows a group of teenage boys whose main goal is to find a cure for their deadly disease. They come with no memory into a new world filled with infected humans with a disease that makes you unbelievably sick/breaking down along with going insane. To find their beloved cure they must race and battle another group of teenage girls who are after the same treasure. Both groups only want to survive to make it through this apocalypse.

The book is filled with twists and turns as the characters' decisions are wild and unpredictable. While these teenagers are living in an unrealistic apocalypse their hardships and backgrounds are relatable and comedic. It' s interesting to watch how the group bonds and becomes a family over facing challenges and overcoming hardships.

Overall this was a very entertaining book and after reading this I am intrigued to finish the rest of the series. I developed almost connections with the characters as I got to know them and wanted them to come out of the novel victorious.

I recommend this book to readers looking for a quick, entertaining, and fun read. After reading the book I would also recommend watching the movie and the rest of the series as the gladers story isn't finished..
