What would you do if you had to find a date in less than 4 weeks for a wedding across the country? The Spanish Love Deception is recently new novel written by Elena Armas. The main character Catalina Martín is a Spanish American woman living a regular life in New York. Catalina wants to impress her family by bringing her supposed “American boyfriend” to her sister's wedding. Catalina's biggest enemy, her colleague, offers to go with her to the wedding, but she refuses. However, as time passes, she becomes more desperate and wonders if he is the only option. Personally, I was not too fond of this book. The beginning started out boring because the author spent too much time developing and explaining the characters' lives. I also didn’t like the “cheesy romance” aspect of the book, as well as the dragged-out decisions the characters made. But if you’re someone who enjoys hopeless romantic writing and drawn-out suspense I recommend this book to you.
