Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (4/5)

In the fantasy fiction book, Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas, the theme of overcoming obstacles is conspicuous as the main character has to fight for her life. Celaena Sardothien, a savage assassin, is summoned to the Kingdom of Adarlan to fight against twenty-three killers. She must outlast the other competitors to become the King’s champion. Soon after the competition starts, the players become eliminated one by one, from something evil lurking around the castle. Celaena must prove herself by killing the corrupted evil roaming around before it destroys her world. I thought this book was very interesting as I love reading fantasy fiction books. I agree with the author about why the assassin, Celaena, was chosen to compete as she is a very devious and conniving competitor. However, even though the author portrays her in the beginning as a ruthless killer, it is shown later on that there is a piece of her that cares about others even though she tries not to show it. This book affected me as its suspensefulness made it entertaining to read. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others.
