Throne of Glass By Sarah J. Maas (5/5)

Throne of glass takes place in a continent called Erilea with a young adult ( 17 - 18 ) girl named

Sardothien who was a famous assassin but got captured after a series of unknown events. She is enslaved in a horrible salt mine named Endovier. After a year the prince of the continent Dorian Havilliard asked her to compete in a competition for her freedom and to be the king's assassin(champion). From there she is brought to the castle to compete and try to win against other criminals / outlaws, training everyday and every few weeks there will be a challenge that will send one of the 26 competitors back to prison/ wherever they came from. However there is something evil about the competition, something taking out the competitors 1 by 1 in the middle of the night. Celaena has to work to become champion, stop whatever is threatening to hurt her and her friend`s, and survive. The book had a lot of unexpected twists and turns and it is a good fantasy, romance and maybe even a slight thriller novel. There is a decent amount of gore and does get a tad scary at parts so I would say it’s for 12-13+. For future readers it starts off really slow but the moment she steps foot into the glass palace where the competition is being held it starts to pick up. So don’t put down the book because it starts off uninteresting. There are some love scenes / mentions but it's nothing too big. You really can’t skip any parts because of how packed it is. You will be extremely lost at whatever page you skip to. Highly recommend this book
