Imagine you have a private island that you and your family visit every summer. Some family friends would stop by however this is your favorite time of the year. Though one summer your grandpa was about to die and pass down the island to one of his children. The children fought for days on who should take over the island, the heirlooms, the homes, the paintings, and the clothes. They all began to get drunk and scream at their own children. The kids called themselves the liars. One of the kids has a brain problem that she developed one night on the island. Nobody will tell her the truth. All she remembers is waking up and having to take these pills for her headaches. She had forgotten everything from that night. She skipped a couple of summers over there to spend time with her dad until hearing about her grandpa's condition, then she went back. She’d ask around what had happened but nobody said anything which made her furious. The mom explained that it would come back to her over time. The book is basically all the events leading up to how she got her head injured. She would be trying to trace down every step of that summer. The place she slept at when she woke up, the breakfast she had, and even the places she went after. I personally wasn't fond of the book. It felt like a drag to read it and kinda wrapped up at the end of it. Though overall it was an ok book I wouldn't recommend it for someone who likes to get straight to the point. However, everyone has different book tastes so if you are into books with action left and right, this isn’t for you. But if you are into a really slow-paced book, this is it!
