We Were Liars by E. Lockhart (4/5)

In the psychological thriller book, We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart, the theme of facing the consequences of mistakes is conspicuous as the main character finally remembers what happened to her in Summer 15. Cadence Sinclair Eastman, a grandchild of a wealthy family, spends every summer on the Sinclair’s private island with “The Liars”, Cadence, her cousins - Johnny and Mirren, and their friend Gat. As their mothers fight over the family inheritances, the children decide to burn down the estate, “Clairmont”, to end the arguing. Years later, Cadence remains facing the blur of the accident that continues to haunt her through migraines and amnesia. She never knew the truth of what happened to “the liars” until she goes back to the island during Summer 17.

I thought this book was very interesting as I love reading thriller books that engage the audience. I appreciated the suspense the author gave the plot, however, it was a little confusing when it was explained that Cadence was knocked out and found in the water but we later learn that her injuries were from the fire. Other than that, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others!
