All the Bright Places is a book about teenagers struggling with their mental health. The book discusses serious topics such as loss and suicide by having characters that struggle with these mental issues. The two main characters are Violet Markey and Theodore Finch. Violet is struggling with the recent death of her sister, and Theodore faces bullying and suicidal thoughts. After an incident relating to a bell tower, the two find themselves working together on a research project about exploring their home state of Indiana. You get to read about and experience all of their emotions as their characters develop over the course of the book.
I personally loved it. I liked how you got to read from the perspective of each character and you got to experience what they were feeling. I have to admit that the ending did make me cry, which just goes to show how good of a book it was. I loved watching Violet and Theodore grow close and the author provided many twists to the story to keep me interested.
Overall, I think this is a really good read, especially if you are interested in a light romance along with serious topics that many teens struggle with within their daily lives.
