Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian (4.5/5)

The details of this compelling book names Burn for Burn include the details of three girls with little in common. They are: Kat is the misunderstood one. Lilia is the sidekick to the prom queen. And Mary is coming back to Jar Island with one thing in mind. Revenge. That’s the one thing they all share in common amongst their many differences. They all want a bit of revenge inflicted on the ones who have wronged them. But as the circumstances begin to change, that little bit of revenge turns into a disaster they could never see coming.

I thought this book was amazing. My favorite part about it was the fact that you were constantly captivated, meaning there was no single time when I wanted to put the book down or stop reading. As both Siobhan Vivian and Jenny Han come with the title “New York Times Best-Selling Author” I expected a great deal out of both of them, especially seeing them work together. In the end, the authors Han and Vivian worked perfectly together to create a riveting and nonetheless entertaining book. Because this book is part of a trilogy, the ending surprised me greatly and gave me a large desire to read the next book. The only reason I give it a 4.5/5 instead of 5/5 is because some of the chapters in this book did have cliches that took away from the whole but in the end still a very high rating.
