The novel Crash Into You by Katie McGarry is a fictional romance tale about two lovers who share a need for speed. The story is told from the perspective of the protagonists, Rachel and Isaiah. At first, McGarry introduces the traumatic issues each of them face in their personal lives. However she then ties it into their love for street racing. Between Rachel’s wealthy upbringing and Isaiah’s fight to rid himself of poverty, an unexpected but intimate love is formed. I found the novel to be such an intriguing story. Mcgarry classically tells a tale of a good girl falling in love with a bad guy but in a provocative and fiery way. The authors' take on social differences between the wealthy and poor are displayed beyond accuracy. Specifically by her choice of words and tone she gives to the characters. With the idea of social class continuously being portrayed, Rachel and Isaiah’s relationship represents the possibility that class in society means nothing when it comes to love. I personally can’t relate to much in this book but while reading it I felt such a connection to how the “low life” citizens were treated by the “rich”. Overall, this book is one of my absolute favorites. So if you want a passionate but riveting romance story I definitely recommend you read Crash Into Me.
