Death on The Nile by Agatha Christie (4/5)

In the detective fiction book, Death on The Nile, by Agatha Christie, the theme of the depths a person will go for love is conspicuous as the main character doesn't realize the danger she faces. Linnet Doyle, a wealthy heiress, has never worried about money which has made her an envy to many. One of her closest friends, Jackie, planned to get married to her love, Simon Doyle. However, when Jackie introduces Simon to Linnet, things immediately change. The three of them end up being involved in a murder which causes their trip around the Nile to be cut short. Hercule Poirot, a detective, uses his skills to reveal the killer(s) lurking around the steamer but after narrowing down multiple suspects, his findings are shocking.

I thought this book was very interesting as I love reading thriller and mystery books. I agree with the author about why people would be envious of Linnet because she seems to have everything. However, even though the author portrays the setting as life never being better, things happen that cause chaos to ensue. This book affected me as its suspensefulness of determining who the killer was made it entertaining to read. Even though there were many signs that suggested the murder, details didn’t add up which covered the murders tracks. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others.
