A nineteen-year-old boy named Ed Kennedy is a cab driver and lives his life as being no one.
He wasn’t anyone in school. The only thing he liked about being in school was reading, which is why the only subject he did good was English. He lived on the worse side of town, so there weren’t any other options for school for him. Besides his boring life as a nobody taxi driver, he also plays cards on the side with Audrey, Marv, and Ritchie. This foreshadows what Ed suddenly gets the following days in his mail. He receives an Ace of Diamonds card with multiple addresses. These addresses could help Ed turn his life around for the better for him and even others. However, will he even go to the addresses or will he carry on his meaningless life?
This novel was extremely captivating, and it’s one of those books that you just want to continue reading. I’m not usually a huge fan of books, but I would really recommend this book since the feeling of not knowing what’s coming next can be very intriguing. It also has some relatable aspects of the story that the reader can relate to, which makes it easier to connect to the main character and read along easier.
In summary, the author did a very good job organizing this novel to have a great storyline, and it’s definitely worth getting into reading it. If you’re into critical thinking, mystery, and young adult reads, then this book is a perfect book to get into.
