Shannon Messanger’s Keeper of the Lost Cities: Exiles is such a unique and outstanding book that includes a pack full of fantasy and mystery. Keeper of the Lost Cities: Exiles is part of a currently 8 book series, with a 9th book incoming. It is the 2nd book of the series, after Keeper of the Lost Cities which should be read beforehand. It is one of the more compelling series I have read by far. It is absolutely worth your time and a book you will most definitely enjoy. As Sophie continues to live in a magical world, she is faced with more challenges than ever before. When exploring a forest to capture sasquatches, she finds an alicorn, who she names Silveny, and using her telepathic powers she is able to embrace her new alicorn. The alicorn will play a crucial role in Sophie's journey to recover her lost memories, which are slowly being uncovered by the secrets she hears. She also has to live in fear of the Black Swan, with who she didn’t have a good history. Shannon Messenger does an amazing job at portraying imagery to drag our eyes and let us sink into the feelings of any character. She’s incredibly good when it comes to building suspense throughout the entire book. Shannon Messenger makes you feel as though you are in this magical/fantasy world, which makes this book addictive. This book filled with fantasy and suspense will be a great book to enjoy. Not only is it attention-grabbing, but it is also just fun to read since it displays humor, jokes, and is relatable. Give it a read and I promise you will be satisfied!
