Pretend Shes's Here by Luanne Rice (5/5)

This book is about a girl named Emily who, while still mourning her best friend Lizzie’s death, is kidnapped and forced to take on Lizzie’s identity. Lizzie's mother has gone insane from the loss of her daughter and believes the only way to ease her pain is to bring Lizzie back through Emily. Emily is forced to live as Lizzie, taking on her appearance and interests for months. Despite the suffering she endures, Emily discovers the value of forgiveness and the importance of her own family and identity.

I really enjoyed this book and I think it had a lot of valuable messages in it. It had an entire rollercoaster of emotions and the climax was really intense. I liked how the author included multiple themes as well as Emily’s inner thoughts which gave the reader a lot of insight of the situation while at the same time making such a far-fetched plot relatable to the reader.

All in all, I definitely recommend this book to future readers and I think that most people will be able to relate to the story in some way.
