John Grisham hooks the reader from the first word and throughout the rest of the novel. The Firm by John Grisham is a great legal thriller from 1991 that follows the life of Mitch McDeere, as he is recruited by a seemingly normal tax firm in Memphis. The illusion shatters when the mysterious deaths of his coworkers sends his life spiraling out of control. Grisham hooks the reader on the mystery as the plot slowly unfolds, and perfectly matches the suspense of the scene, captivating the reader throughout the novel. I would recommend this book to anyone, even those who don’t enjoy reading the most, as it has an addicting effect that practically begs the reader to finish the story. Based on this I would have to rate this book 5 out of 5, as it stays engaging all the way through, not becoming stale once.
