The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (5/5)

Every family has its secrets, whether good or bad, sometimes these secrets are not meant to be discovered. The book, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson is a story of lust, betrayal, mystery, and egregious murder. From the split perspective of two complete opposites, the discredited reporter, Mikael Blomkvist and introverted, yet incredibly intelligent hacker, Lisbeth Salander, the story follows the unexpected pair as they work together to reopen and solve a missing persons case of the 16 year old Harriet Vanger that has been neglected for decades. As they uncover more and more clues about the case, they discover the many secrets hidden in the depths of the complicated Vanger family. On a mission to discover the truth, Mikael and Salander are faced with the difficulties of navigating through years and years of leads and outraged family members trying to stop them from discovering anything more about the Vanger family.

This book was extremely well written and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Although, the events in the book were very drawn out and after the climax happened the rest of the book's events were summed up in a hastened pace. This book was about 590 pages and the climax did not begin until around page 500. The rest of the book felt rushed and abrupt.

Despite the book's somewhat slow pace, I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to everyone of the age 15+. The book did have some dark and mature content that would not be suitable for younger people to read. This is an amazing book for readers who love mystery and the end of every chapter will leave you wanting more.
