The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo (4.5/5)

Have you ever wondered why decent and good people are capable of committing horrible acts of violence and aggression? The book is about a Stanford prison experiment where college students role-play for a long period of time as either prisoners or guards. As the experiment goes on both the prisoners and guards both have raised hostility levels. That isnt the only thing that was analyzed in the book as real-world events where dangerous groups of people captured innocent citizens and were able to turn them into murdering monsters that dont feel remorse for the people that they are told to execute within a matter of weeks. This book has some flaws and pros as it's an informational book so there isnt really the main story to follow as the book dives into multiple events. However, all the events the books talk about are real and are all very interesting due to the shockingness of some of these stories. Overall the book is a really awesome read. It is super long but honestly, you could read some of the events in the book as it's sectioned off so reading the whole book to draw a conclusion to what you just read isnt required.
