Fourty-three-year-old, Malcolm Bannister, is serving his 10 years in prison. He was a lawyer in Virginia before his license was cut off because of money laundering and being part of a real estate plan that included Barry Rafko. He is a criminal who was arrested many times because of many financial situations that had occurred to him in the past. Since Bannister had been involved in one of these situations, he had also been sacked of his license and ordered to attend the 10-year sentence in prison which he was halfway in. Everything was going downhill from then, his family, life, money, etc. While in jail, he had seen a magazine where there was a recent murder of a federal judge that took place in a very remote location. The FBI needed help for this case because they did not get a lead and Bannister stepped in and took advantage of the situation since this could be the big difference in his life that he needed. When Bannister knew that the killer must have walked away from the scene with a lot of money, he had a lead and knew who it might be including the motives. Nathan Colley helped Judge Fauccett move the safe into his cabin and when seeing that money, he knew that he needed to get it so he did all of this. When Bannister knew this, he moved Nathan to a court in Jamaica where he would stay for 20 years. I enjoyed the book because when I knew that it was a crime genre, I wanted to try it out. After reading the first couple of pages, I was impressed by the amount of little details that they put in the beginning. It was breathtaking and you could visualize it so well. I agree with the idea of bringing in the plot at the beginning because it builds up more suspense and questions for the reader in the future and throughout the book. The book excludes real feelings for me like when a sad or maybe important part comes up, I am not that excited because I have already thought it out in my head and knew the answer. I agree with Stuart Gibbs and the Spy Camp because the little details proved way more than extra context like backstories and some foreshadowing. This is a book that you should read more than once time because it can relate to the original world today and the idea that greed is not good and should not be a factor in your motivation at all. Reading this book “Below the sea level” is the best. It advances you and encourages you to find more than what you can just see like important thematic concepts such as identity, dreams, hopes and plans, etc.
