Eleanor is a girl that recently transferred to a new school, (tenth grade) she got made fun of on the first day of school when she got on the bus to go to school. She wears clothes that are very different from other people since she was poor and buys clothes at Goodwill. She wanted to find a seat where she can sit by herself but before she can do that, there were kids bullying her, Park was sitting at a chair and he also thought she was weird but he told her to sit down with him since he didn't want to cause trouble and chaos. Park wanted to talk to Eleanor but he didn't know what to say so he bought multiple comics for her to choose from. They started to talk since she liked the comics and they were also talking about what bands they liked to listen to. They had a lot in common and they both started to catch feelings for each other. Eleanor's stepfather gets angry when she hangs out or even talks to boys, so when they went downtown and hung out pretty late, which made Eleanor's stepfather furious he drove around to find her, and if he found her, he would beat her up. She was scared so she went to Park's house to tell him that she needs help to escape. He helped her by driving her to Minnesota, to her uncle's place, but he was really devastated since he has to let her go. After he dropped her off, they promised to call and write letters to each other. Park kept writing her letters and calling her but Eleanor didn't pick up or read the letters he wrote for her. She was too scared she is going to miss him. Park stopped writing letters and moved on and Eleanor kept going to school. A year later, Eleanor wrote him a letter. I really liked this novel even though it had a really sad ending to it, it really made me feel warm inside and it was a really fast book.
