Michael Crichton’s page-turner keeps the reader on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next. Jurassic Park was written by Michael Crichton and published in 1990. It is the first of a two-book series with the second one titled Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Dr. Alan Grant works in the Montana Badlands and digs up fossils with his assistant Ellie Sattler. One day they are invited to Isla Nublar, an island off the coast of Costa Rica, by their mysterious donor, John Hammond for a new type of ecological reserve. When they arrive they soon realize that Mr. Hammond and his lead scientist, Dr. Henry Wu, aren’t being as honest as they claim. The author jumps between characters and their situations which keeps the reader in suspense. The book is divided into seven sections each with its own chapters. The sections are divided in a way that it feels like another curtain is being pulled. It also allows you to see how a decision made by someone on one end of the island affects someone on the opposite end. When the book starts it seems that everything is normal but as it continues you see the faults and issues with the ecological reserve and with the people in charge of it. The plot is also very detailed and focuses on every character. All in all, this was a very good book (one of the best I’ve read in a while). I think it is worth a read because of its language, writing style, and plot. I don’t read science fiction novels, however, this has become one of my favorite books. I think it is worth a read for anyone who is interested.
